Packard Bell ipower 5542

P4 2.4 GHz, 512MB, 40GB HDD, DVD/CDRW, 7 slot flash cards, IRDA, firewire

All works fine under Ubuntu 5.10 but for two problems

  1. modem does not work, though I understand that Intel 537 drivers exist (but I never got them running)
  2. reboot does not work - the computer has to be switched off and then switched on again.
