Talks

At the ScotLUG meeting it has been agreed it would be a good idea to start new users into Linux with introductions to the Free software community and the Linux distribution system.

After the install an introduction to a few common apps would be helpful.

Social event

Should we have a social event afterwards and if so what should it be?

Where

The Saltire Centre appears to be the perfect venue and drochaid is going to contact the venue to see if they would be willing to host the event.

There are two large areas with power sockets at the desks and couches available with a room to the side for the various talks going on during the day.

The final thing we will need to make this happen is YOU! We need a lot of people who understand Linux and are willing to spend an afternoon helping new users get Linux installed on their system and show them around the various tasks they need to do. Put your name below (or email to the list, shout up on IRC) if you are willing to help get more people using Linux.
