Talk
Title: Roasting your filesystem for fun and profit
Speaker: Claudio
Slides : http://mkswap.co.uk/slides-2010-01-28.pdf
Synopsis
Don't try this at home
I proposed to give a talk about debugfs and how it makes it so easy to recover files deleted by mistake. However, while preparing the talk I found out that what I proposed to show has stopped working in recent kernels. Instead I'll show how other tools can be used. With live demo.
I'll also mention other ways you can totally destroy your filesystems, again with live demo. We'll just have time for a quick hose-and-repair session before people get too thirsty. You may start laughing now.
As usual, we'll go to the pub as soon as possible after the talk.
(see also the slightly different EdLUG talk by the same title)
Speaker Bio
Speaker was born at an early age, but looks rather older than that now. In the intervening years he has worked for all sorts of dodgy outfits, ranging from web hosting to credit card transaction processing. He has been offered at least one job as a consequence of writing an INTERCAL compiler.
